About the designer

Florence Louisy
French designer, Paris

Florence Louisy is a french designer based in Paris.
She graduated in the Netherlands at the Design Academy Eindhoven under the guidance of Ilse Crawford and Formafantasma.
In 2018, she leaves for São-Paulo, to work beside the Campana brothers.
An inspiring experience that convinced her to start working independently, seeking for miscellaneous crafts to collaborate with.
From her drawings until the achievement of a piece, her projects stands for unique pieces composed by minimalist and elegant lines.

ABOUT THE PIECE

By looking at ancient uses of stone, Florence Louisy in collaboration with Marbrek, a stone company based in France, focused on the embodiment and personalization of heat. In a unique Belgium ground exists a mineral, intense black and noble material. The quarry of Mazy detains the purest black marble on earth. The fascinating perfection of the stone created a global trade influenced by its aesthetic quality.
The color speaks for itself, full of carbon this marble detains great thermal inertia strength.
Inertia explores the stone from its inside as a guiding thread while researching about our past relation with the object. In a time where the composition of material will naturally define its functionality.

Based in Paris, the gallery represents and edits collectible pieces in limited edtion. Every work is original and delivered with a certificate of authenticity from the artist. We provide council to our clients in their acquisitions and assist in personalised orders. Our international network and unique, cultivated relationships allow us to present original and unique works.

We favour a delivery service adapted to the value and the nature of the pieces offered. Our partners, galleries and artists work with couriers qualified for the transportation of artworks all around the world. In order to assist the clients, Kolkhoze supervises the transportation up until the final destination. Every delivery requires an online quotation that will be provided within the next three working days. The clients can also collect their item themselves.
